The “mesmerizing flower” full moon arrives May 5. I call it the sneezing pollen allergy moon.

Commodity food for those in need is distributed on a monthly basis. You can help us by recycling your clean and gently used Super One green plastic grocery bags. We use this brand bag only, as they better serve our purposes due to their strength and capacity.

Repurposed cabinets were installed in the “game room” to provide storage for card and board games. We need gently used board games to add to our inventory. Thursday early evening may be available for those interested in a weekly playing board games and cards. Call us.

Other activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: low-impact exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; pinochle, noon-3 p.m. Thursdays; bingo, 7 p.m. Fridays ($100 payout on blackouts), with playing card bingo on the first and third Wednesdays. The pool table is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays

A veteran’s representative will visit the center from 10 a.m.-noon Friday, May 5, and Tuesday, May 16.

Meals are available for sit-down, take-out or delivery from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. weekdays and cost $5. The menu is posted each week at the center; call before 10 a.m. for deliveries.

Main dishes include ham and scalloped potatoes, May 4; cheeseburgers, May 5; corn chowder, May 8; beef enchiladas, May 9; BBQ chicken, May 10; hamburger stroganoff, May 11; and hashbrown casserole, May 12.

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays at 504 3rd Ave. E. For more information, call 406-883-4735 or email polsonseniorcenter@gmail.com.
