Motorcyclist dies after colliding with cow

DeWayne L. Kemp of Ronan died May 3 when his motorcycle struck a black cow on Highway 93 near the intersection of Lake McDonald Road on Post Creek Hill. He was 59.

According to the Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around midnight, and road conditions were bare and dry.

Kemp was born in San Jose, Calif., and eventually moved to Montana, where he trained dogs and did ranch work, according to his obituary. He had two children and three grandchildren.

The crash remains under investigation by the Montana Highway Patrol.
