Polson posts win/loss, Mission bests Browning

Columbia Falls ekes past Polson

Polson and Columbia Falls had an old-fashioned pitcher’s duel, with the Wildcats coming away with the 1-0 victory on their home field Thursday, May 4. College-bound Dawson DuMont pitched a gem for the Pirates, going six innings, striking out five, and allowing just three hits.

Columbia Falls scored its lone run in the bottom of the fourth which proved to be the difference-maker. Polson couldn't muster a hit in the matchup and left two on base.

Polson dropped to 12-3 on the season with the loss.

Polson wallops Plains

Polson scored nine runs in both the first and second inning en route to an 18-0 victory over Plains at home on Tuesday, May 2. Holden Emerson had three RBI for the Pirates, while Jarrett Wilson had two hits and two RBI in the matchup.

Plains was limited to four hits as Wilson pitched all three innings of the shortened game, striking out three and walking four.

Cymian Kauley also had two hits for the Pirates, driving in a run, while Dawson DuMont had a double. Wilson also stole two bases in the game. Polson finished with nine hits total as a team and did not bat in the bottom of the third due to the mercy rule.

Espn Fisher and DuMont each drove in two runs in the matchup.

Mission thumps Browning

Browning could muster just one hit against Mission pitcher Canyon Sargent as the Bulldogs came away with a 15-0 victory in three innings on Monday, May 1. Sargent threw three innings in the shortened game, striking out five.

Mile Crooks had a home run, three hits, a double, four RBI, and two stolen bases. Five different Mission players had doubles in the matchup.

Mission scored five runs in the bottom of the second and then exploded for 10 runs in the bottom of the third to end the game early.

Jason Leishman had three hits and two RBI in the game, while Brody Brown had a double, two hits, and an RBI. Kellen McClure had two hits and three RBI at the plate for the Bulldogs.
