Charlo earns pair of seconds in district track action
The Charlo boys and girls were second in the 14C District Meet on Friday, May 12, in Missoula, with boys tallying 163 points and the girls collecting 107 points. The Arlee Boys were fourth in the Boys 6B District Meet with 37 points.
14C District Meet
Charlo’s Keaton Piedalue won the 100-meter run (11.60), the 200-meter run (24.45), and the 400-meter run (54.10)
Charlo’s Hayden Hollow was first in the 800-meter run (2:05.43) and second in the 400-meter run (54.10). Fellow Viking Hayden Smith was first in the 1,600-meter run (4:58.31), first in the 3,200-meter run (10:41.02), and second in the 800-meter run (2:05.43).
Teammate Tucker Love was fourth (57.41) in the 400-meter run. Charlo’s Tayre Brown was fourth in the 800-meter run (2:13.58), while Tasker Brown was fifth (2:15.71), and Karson Cox was seventh (2:18.18). Love was sixth in the 3,200-meter run (11:56.16), while Kenyan DuMont was seventh in the same event (12:04.44) for the Vikings.
Charlo’s Jacob Tomlin was second in the shot put (40-1) and third in the 300-meter hurdles (48.10). Teammate Ryan Sharbono was fourth in the shot put (35-9), and Denny Black was sixth in the same event (35-2.5). Sharbono was third in the discus (118-01).
In the 4x100 relay, Charlo was second (46.24) with the running of Hayden Hollow, Keaton Piedalue, Tayre Brown and Tucker Love. The Vikings were also second in the 4x400 relay (3:42.36) with Piedalue, Hollow, Tayre Brown and Tasker Brown running.
Love was second in the javelin (140-04), while Tomlin was fourth (135-6.5), and Wesley Anderson was fifth (131-10).
Charlo’s Tayre Brown and Hollow were tied for fourth in the pole vault (9-6), while Love was sixth.
Cox was fourth in the long jump (17-7.5) and in the triple jump (35-0).
For the Lady Vikings, Elsie Deter won the 3,200-meter run (14:45). Teammate Aida Cote was first in the discus (105-00), and Leah Cahoon was first in the high jump (4-9).
Charlo’s Taylea Lund was third (13.88), while Two Eagle’s Christine Tenas was sixth (14.38) in the 100-meter run. Lund was third in the 200-meter run (28.38), while TERS’s Tenas was fifth (30-0).
In the 400-meter run, Lund was fourth (1:06.25). Lady Viking teammate Aida Cote was third (2:27.67) in the 800-meter run and second in the 1,600-meter run (6:16.84)
Charlo was first in the 4x400 relay (4:29.38) with Sheodon Kain, Leah Cahoon, Aida Cote, and Taylea Lund running, and second in the 4x100 relay (56.66) with the running of Lund, Karly Alder, Kain, and Elsie Detert.
Kain was fifth in the long jump (13-5), while Two Eagle River’s Tenas was fourth (13-7).
6B District Meet
Charley Crawford of Arlee won the javelin with a throw of 156-08)
In the shot put, Arlee was third (41-8.5) with a heave by Jake Knoll, who was seventh in the discus (112-11), and fifth in the triple jump (36-2.5).
Arlee’s Charley Crawford was fifth in the 400-meter run (54.11). Fellow Warrior Kendall O’Neill was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (47.11). O’Neill was fifth in the high jump with a mark of (5-4) and fifth in the long jump (18-9).
In the pole vault, River Gray was fifth (9-0).
On the girls’ side, Raven Parson was first in the long jump (16-2) and second in the 100-meter hurdles (17.60) for the Scarlets, and second in the high jump (4-4).
Arlee’s Adalyn Jacobson was fifth in the 100-meter run (13.70) and fifth in the 200-meter run (28.79). She was also fifth in the 400-meter run (1:07.68).
In the field events, Jacobson was third in the javelin (96-0) while teammate Shyla Schlieker was fifth (89-09). In the shot put, Shonlea Matt was third (28-3) for Arlee.
