Montecahto Club offers scholarship; receives grant

The Montecahto Club, a nonprofit social service organization, is again offering a vocational scholarship of up to $1,000 to an individual in Lake County.

Club members are seeking applicants who are pursuing “a less traditional” training program for license certification rather than a traditional four-year degree.

The club, located at 35432 Hwy. 35, east of Polson, was established in 1935 as a ladies’ social club. The Montana History Foundation recently awarded a $5,760 grant to repair and restore the flagstone stairs and porch leading up to the historic clubhouse in an effort to “preserve and maintain the clubhouse’s status as a community gathering space for generations ahead.”
