Polson posts two wins in Co-Falls tourney
Teams find it extremely difficult to get runs off the Polson Pirates, which was confirmed during the Sapa Johnsrud Tournament last weekend in Columbia Falls. Against Corvallis on Friday, May 12, the Blue Devils could muster just two hits in a 5-0 loss to Polson.
Dawson DuMont put four no-hit innings on the mound for the Pirates as Polson grew its lead to 3-0 after three innings. DuMont struck out nine. Cymian Kauley finished out the game, striking out four.
Jarrett Wilson had two hits and an RBI at the plate, while Aiden Gfroerer drove in two runs and had a double. Zak Muzquiz, Cody Haggard, and Kauley had doubles in the matchup.
On Saturday, Hunter Emerson had himself a day with four hits and four RBI in a 14-0 victory over Stevensville. Polson led 8-0 after three innings and plated another six in the top of the sixth.
Espn Fisher pitched four innings for the Pirates, allowing just one hit and striking out nine. Meanwhile, Polson finished with 10 hits as a team.
Wilson had three hits and two RBI, while Landon Shoemake drove in three runs.
The win improved Polson to 16-3 overall.

Pirates no-hit Browning on Senior Night
Polson’s three seniors shined in a 19-0 Northwestern A victory over Browning on Thursday, May 11. Senior Jarrett Wilson struck out four and allowed no hits on the mound while collecting three hits and driving in a run.
Fellow senior and college-bound baseball player Dawson DuMont had two doubles and drove in two runs in the victory, while senior Cymian Kauley drove in two with a hit.
Polson scored six runs in the first inning and exploded for 13 runs in the second frame. The team finished with 16 hits total.
Junior Zak Muzquiz had a day with three hits, three RBI, and a double in the matchup. Cody Haggard and Holden Emerson also had multi-hit and muli-RBI days.
The Pirates finished the year 6-0 in conference action.

Polson controls Eureka
Espn Fisher struck out 11 as Polson picked up a workman-like 5-1 victory over Eureka on the road on May 9. The Pirates scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take control in what had previously been a one-run game.
Fisher allowed just four hits on the mound, while Jarrett Wilson had two hits and three steals to help bolster the Polson offense. Dawson DuMont had a double in the matchup.

Frenchtown cages Bulldogs
An early start by Frenchtown ended in an 11-1 defeat for the Mission Bulldogs on Wednesday, May 10. The Broncs led 6-0 after three innings and notched another run in the fourth and four runs in the fifth.
Frenchtown finished with 11 hits, while Mission was held to two hits by Brody Brown and Chance Bockman, who drove in the Bulldogs' lone run in the top of the fourth.
Four Mission pitchers combined to strike out six Frenchtown batters but walked 14 batters in the matchup.
Mission fell to 2-7 on the season.
