Charlo falls to Ennis in playoff opener
Charlo battled hard but fell 30-15 on Friday, Oct. 28, on the road against Central’s No. 1 seed, Ennis, in the State Eight-Man Football Playoffs.
In a rematch of the 2016 state title game, both teams played scoreless football in the first quarter. Charlo’s Jacob Tomlin found the endzone first on a six-yard touchdown run.
Ennis, however, scored three straight touchdowns. In the second quarter, two touchdown passes gave the team a 16-7 halftime lead. They notched another touchdown pass to go up 24-7.
Charlo fired back with a one-yard touchdown run by Ryan Sharbono in the fourth quarter to pull within 24-15, but Ennis got a 13-yard touchdown run to put the game on ice (literally, since the high in Ennis Saturday was 21 degrees).
The Vikings finished with 138 yards on the ground, while Hayden Hollow passed for 101 yards through the air.
Charlo finished the season 6-4.
