Lady Pirates drop five-set matchup against Bigfork

Polson dropped its final game of the season to Bigfork in five sets, 25-21, 20-25, 25-22, 11-25, 15-6 on Tuesday, Oct. 24. McKenna Hanson had 13 kills in the matchup, while Hannah Simpson had 11, and Samantha Rensvold notched 10.

Avery Starr dished out 44 assists and also had four aces to go along with 13 digs and four blocks. Julia Barnard had 33 digs, Hanson collected 16, and Rensvold had 14.

The Lady Pirates sit at 9-5 in conference play, which earned them the No. 2 Northwest seed in the upcoming Western A Conference Tournament, Nov. 2-4 in Polson.

Polson falls in five

Polson fell in five sets to Columbia Falls in Northwest A volleyball action on Tuesday, Oct.17. The Lady Pirates went up 2-1 in sets before the Wildkats caught fire and picked up the victory on their senior night, 27-25, 14-25, 12-25, 25-20, 15-11.

Mckenna Hanson had 18 kills in the matchup, while Hannah Simpson added 11. Meanwhile, at the service stripe, Avery Starr had five aces, and Hanson added another three. Starr also had 39 assists and 13 digs.

Julia Barnard had 23 digs, while Hanson had 13, and Sierra Perez had 12. At the net, Carlie Maley had five blocks while Starr had two.
