Sherman, Oberwegner and Lozeau named All-State
Three football players from the Mission Valley were named to the Class A All-State team for 2023, two from Ronan and one from Polson.
Ronan senior Coleton Sherman was named All-State and Western A All-Conference for his play this year as center and defensive end. Polson offensive tackle Austin Oberwegner was also named to the All-State team, along with earning second-team Western A honors.
Ronan Junior linebacker Laurance Lozeau was All-State and Western A All-Conference this year, as well as a second-team Western A entry for his receiver play.
Earning honorable mentions on offense were Polson quarterback Holden Emerson and Ronan QB Kolby Finley; both are sophomores, meaning fans will see plenty more for them. Polson senior receiver Tommy Sherry also received an honorable mention.
On defense, Polson senior defensive end Brock Henriksen was named to the Western A second team. Polson senior lineman Ezra FastHorse, Ronan senior outside linebacker Nate Young, and Polson senior cornerback Brenden Griffin received honorable mentions for their Western A play.
Ten different players from Columbia Falls made the All-State team after making it to the Class A State Championship Game. Whitefish had two players make All-State, Bigfork had four, and Libby had one.
Players named first-team All-Western A were also selected as All-State, and since the Western A had three of the four semifinalists, the league was allowed an additional four All-State picks.
