Chiefs power past Browning

Ronan’s Kolby Finley threw three touchdowns, ran for one more, and returned an interception for a score as the Chiefs defeated Browning 39-8 in Western A football action on Friday, Sept. 29. Ronan’s defense also collected three interceptions in the victory while holding Browning to 221 yards of total offense.

Ronan posted a 14-0 lead in the first quarter after Finley ripped off a 53-yard touchdown run and threw a 15-yard pass to Nate Young. In the second quarter, Finley threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Young and then returned an interception for the 27-0 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, Laurance Lozeau picked up a fumble and ran it in for a score for the 33-0 lead. Browning scored their first points of the game on a safety, but Ronan answered back in the fourth quarter on a three-yard touchdown pass from Finley to Cash Atkinson. Browning capped off all scoring with a 61-yard touchdown run, but it was too little, too late.

Finley finished the game with 85 yards on 10 rushes and 108 yards on 12-for-19 passing.

Nate Young hauled in three catches for 48 yards, and Laurance Lozeau pulled in two balls for 27 yards.

Ronan improved to 3-3 on the season with the victory.
