CSKT Transit launches new app
CSKT Transit Services recently began to offer a new app that allows riders to schedule and cancel their travel more easily.
The Transit Service, which offers transportation within the Flathead Reservation and to and from nearby towns, contracted with a company named Via to provide an app that that can be easily downloaded to smartphones. It’s designed to help create a door-to-door public transit service for more affordable, efficient and convenient transportation.
CSKT Transit Services is the fifth transit in Montana to use this technology.
The public can now schedule their rides in two ways: download and use the CSKT Transit mobile app; or all 406-275-2792 for help booking a ride when and where it is needed.
When a ride is booked, the app (Via) uses its advanced algorithm to create quick and efficient trips. It does this by pooling several passengers who are traveling in the same direction at similar times into one scheduled trip for the driver.
CSKT Transit Service operates from 6 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Monday to Friday within Flathead Indian Reservation communities. Trips are also available to and from neighboring areas including Kalispell and Missoula. The service also offers wheelchair-accessible vehicles.
