Polson Rotary donates to four youth organizations
Rotary and Mission Valley Aquatics treasurer Jim Oates was on hand last week, flanked by Rotary president Dennis Duty and MVA board member Tana Seeley, to receive $11.400 from Rotary's annual BrewFest, which raises funds for youth programs.
At the organization’s regular meeting last Tuesday, Sept. 26, Polson Rotary President Dennis Duty dispersed nearly $24,000 raised during last summer's Brewfest and raffle to four youth organizations.
More than 250 people attended the annual Brewfest, held Aug. 12 on Main Street in Polson. It coincided with the Cruisin’ By the Bay Car Show and Courthouse Art Festival.
Youth organizations that received donations from Rotary this year were:
• Polson Youth Soccer Association, $9,270
• Mission Valley Aquatic Center’s Youth Water Safety Program for second and third graders (mvaquaticsfitness.com), $11,400
• Polson Fierce Basketball, the sixth-grade girls’ travel team (polsonfiercebasketball@gmail.com), $2,975
• Polson High School Cheerleading, $250
The Polson Rotary Youth Fundraiser has raised more than $320,000 for local youth projects since 2007. Stay tuned for the third Rotary Brewfest, slated for August 2024.
