Polson runs past Stevensville
Polson returned to .500 with a 33-12 Western A victory over Stevensville on Friday, Sept. 29. Uriah Ulutoa ran for three touchdowns and Holden Emerson threw another as the Pirates improved to 3-3 on the year on the road.
Polson jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter thanks to two and 12-yard touchdown runs. Stevensville answered back with a 56-yard scoring run in the second quarter, but the Pirates capped off the first half with a 35-yard field goal by Lucian Sawyer.
In the third quarter, Sawyer hit a 31-yard field goal, and Emerson found Tommy Sherry for a 26-yard touchdown pass to put Polson up 27-6.
Stevensville found the end zone one more time in the game on a QB keeper, but Polson answered with 10-yard touchdown run by Ulutoa.
Ulutoa finished the game with 132 yards on 12 rushes, while Emerson had 44 yards on 12 carries. Emerson also went 9-for-19 in the air for 154 yards.
Casey Graham was the Pirates’ leading receiver with two catches for 54 yards, while Brock Henriksen caught three balls for 46 yards. Sherry finished with two receptions for 40 yards.
Stevensville finished with 322 yards of offense, with Brenden Griffin scoring an interception against them. Stevensville fell to 1-5 on the season. Polson had 343 yards of offense including 189 yards on the ground.
