Arlee moves to 7-0 with win over Troy
Coming off their 50-6 victory over Plains the previous week, Arlee wanted to continue the momentum against winless Troy on Friday, Oct. 6, in Western C eight-man football action.
"They have improved on staying poised and calm in situations when things aren't going the way we want," Arlee Head Coach Quinn Huisman said after his team's Plains win.
The Warriors posted their second shutout of the season, defeating the Trojans 42-0 in a game that was essentially iced by halftime.
Jake Knoll got Arlee on the board first with a three-yard touchdown run, while Jace Arca notched a nine-yard scoring run to put Arlee up 14-0 in the first quarter. The Warriors then posted 22 points in the second quarter.
Knoll hauled in a 14-yard pass from Kendall O'Neill for a touchdown, and then O'Neill threw another. Arca rounded out the Warriors scoring for the half with a nine-yard scoring run for the 36-0 halftime lead.
Dean Moran ran in a touchdown from 10 yards out in the fourth quarter to cap Arlee's scoring.
So far this year, Arlee has scored 344 points while giving up 82. That pencils out to an average score of 49-11.
This Friday, however, will be a perfect test before the postseason as the Warriors will be playing against 6-0 Valley Christian.
