Mission scored 32 points in the second quarter on its way to a 62-26 route of Darby in Western C eight-man football action on Friday, Oct. 6.

Kelby Dumont and Rhain Gonzalez each had touchdown runs to put Mission up 16-0 in the first quarter. After a Darby touchdown run, Mission got rolling as Landon Walks Over Ice caught a 54-yard scoring pass from Titan Mansell. Gonzalez snagged an 11-yard scoring pass from Mansell, and then Walks Over Ice threw the ball to Mansell in the endzone from 33 yards out.

Iyezk Umphrey returned an interception for 55 yards out for a score to cap off the second quarter for the Bulldogs, giving them a 48-8 lead.

In the second half, Darby’s offense did pick up, scoring three times, but Kelby Dumont and Kai O’Brien each found paydirt running the ball for the Bulldogs to keep the game well out of reach.

Mission improved to 4-3 on the year, having scored 214 total points. The 62-point outburst was their biggest output of the year.
