Julia Montgomery, 76

Julia Irene Montgomery, age 76, passed away Aug. 23 at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. Burial has taken place at Lakeview Cemetery in Polson.

Julia was born May 9, 1947, to William Roy Montgomery and Sarah Mabel Coleman Montgomery of Big Arm. She grew up in Big Arm and attended school in Polson.

After graduating high school she enlisted in the Women's Army Corp and was stationed at Fort Belvior, Va. Following her discharge from the army she moved to Missoula where she attended the University of Montana, graduating with a degree in accounting.

Julia retired from a Missoula bank after 35 years of service as a vault teller. She had numerous hobbies, including cross-stitch and collecting Barbie dolls and Elvis memorabilia.

Julia was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mabel Montgomery; brothers Francis Kis, Louis Kis, Martin Montgomery, Alvin (Monty) Montgomery, and William (Willy) Montgomery; sister Betty Montgomery; and nieces Sandra Torell and Sharron Kis.

She is survived by her sister, Hazel Lenoir; nieces Kathy (Guy) Pallone, Linda (Dave) Hurst, Susan (Monty) Werdin, Laurie Fisher, Marcia Fisher, and Becky Montgomery; nephews David (Robin) Kis, Terry (Debbie) Fisher, Lee (Denise) Montgomery, Lynn (Denise) Montgomery, and Steve (Teri) Montgomery.
