St. Ignatius School District Snapshot
We continue to work on facilities to offer our students the very best opportunities. The new gym and expansion are complete: we now have two full gyms to host more tournaments and much more room for community events and activities.
And that’s not all – over the past two years we have expanded Career and Technical Education with new wood- and metal-working equipment and Family and Consumer Science facilities. We’ve also added new tennis and pickle-ball courts.
In the elementary school, a new lab focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) learning. A districtwide remodeling project includes new lockers, a new art room, and new classroom cabinets in the middle and elementary schools.
Our next projects include continuing to remodel, expand the wood and metal shop and
looking at ways to create teacher housing here on campus. We are also interested in collaborating with someone who would be interested in offering a day care here.
Our biggest priority this year is to improve academic achievement as it relates to learning loss after COVID. During the pandemic we lost direct in-school instruction, which still proves to be the very best way for students to learn and grow academically and socially.
We need to improve our achievement levels that were at or above state standards prior to COVID. Academic achievement is imperative to our mission and goals across the district.
Overall, things are going very well in School District #28. I feel we are off to a fantastic start.
