Titan Mansell threw three touchdown passes and ran for two more as the Mission Bulldogs defeated Troy 50-13 in Western 8-man football action on Friday, Sept. 1, in St. Ignatius.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter thanks to a 64-yard touchdown pass by Rhain Gonzalez to Iyezk Umphrey. Umphrey ran the ball into the endzone from seven yards out for Mission’s second score.

Mansell threw his first touchdown pass in the second quarter, a one-yard toss to Chance Bockman, and the Bulldogs went into the locker room at the break with a 20-7 halftime lead

After Umphrey returned a kickoff for a 79-yard touchdown, Troy scored on a 20-yard pass to pull to within 26-13.

Mansell, however, had other ideas, running for two touchdowns and passing for two more in the fourth quarter.
