Polson splits with Bitterroot teams

At home, Polson split its two matchups against Bitterroot teams on Friday, Sept. 1. Polson swept Corvallis 25-21, 25-11, 25-17 behind 12 kills by Mckenna Hanson. The Lady Pirates lost to Hamilton 27-29, 18-25, 25-19, 25-21, 15-2, despite 21 kills from Hanson and 13 kills from Hannah Simpson.

The morning game against Corvallis saw Polson’s Hannah Simpson notch six kills. Avery Starr dished out 26 assists while also notching two blocks. Regarding digs, Julia Barnard led the Lady Pirates with 25, and Samantha Rensvold had 18.

Hamilton defeated Polson in five games despite 36 assists from Avery Starr, who also had two blocks, five aces, and eight digs.

The Lady Pirates fell to 1-1 on the year.

Ronan picks up Corvallis win

The Maidens started the season 1-1 after falling to Hamilton 25-14, 25-23, 22-25,25-16 and then bouncing back to defeat Corvallis 25-18, 25-20, 10-25, 25-18 on Saturday, Sept. 2 in Ronan.

Against Hamilton, Lauryn Buhr and Mckenna Corley led Ronan with six kills apiece. The Maidens also had a great serving match as Seattle Adams and Kailyn Marengo each had three aces. Adams also had 17 assists and 17 digs in the matchup.

Ronan had 59 digs as a team and nine aces total. Kylee Kelch also had a monster day at the net with five blocks and one block assist.
