Polson Soccer takes down Hamilton
Polson Boys Soccer picked up a 3-1 victory over Hamilton at home on Saturday, Aug. 31. Ashten Nelson and Robert Merchant each had goals and assists in the matchup, while Ted Mausshardt also had a goal. Polson improved to 2-1 on the season, and Hamilton fell to 1-2 on the year.
Hamilton scored first in the 45th minute, but Quinton Clark found Nelson for Polson's first goal six minutes later. Then, in the 53rd minute, Polson struck again as Merchant passed to Mausshardt, who found the back of the net. The Pirates iced the game with a goal in 71st minute by Merchant on a Nelson assist.

Polson leads Corvallis before lightning
Multiple lightning strikes stopped Polson's matchup against Corvallis on Tuesday, Aug. 29. Anthony Lichtenberg scored in the 20th minute to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead before play was cut short and suspended.

Pirates fall to Lone Peak
Polson dropped a nonleague matchup against Lone Peak 5-1 on Saturday, Aug. 26, despite a goal by Anthony Lichtenberg.
All the scoring occurred in the first half, as Lone Peak led 3-0 15 minutes in and then scored in the 24th and 32nd minute. Lichtenberg got Polson on the board with a goal in the 34th minute.
Polson had six corner-kick opportunities in the matchup and seven fouls. Lone Peak had four corners and also got one yellow card.

Polson trounces East Helena
The Pirates had an offensive showcase against nonleague foe East Helena on Friday, Aug. 25, in a 12-2 victory. Robert Merchant scored four goals and an assist in the matchup, while Edgar Vejez Pete had two assists.
Merchant scored in the second minute, and Ashten Nelson added the Pirates' second goal in the fourth. Cruz Lies assisted Taegen Gage for Polson's third goal, and Nelson notched his second goal of the game thanks to an assist from Brody Kline.
In the 25th minute, Polson got a goal from Lucian Sawyer, assisted by Merchant, who scored 14 minutes later. East Helena scored in the 40th and 42nd minute to make the game 6-2.
Merchant scored again in the 43rd minute off an assist from Quinton Clark, and then in the 53rd minute thanks to a Ted Mausshardt assist. Donovan Beeks scored in the 68th minute on a pass from Nelson. Jakson Bontadelli scored twice in three minutes off two Pete assists, and Brandon Moss rounded out Polson's scoring on an assist from Dion Lichtenberg.
Polson had nine corners in the matchup, while East Helena had two corners.
