Shirley Sheridan, 89
Shirley Mae Sheridan, 89 of Polson, passed away Monday, Aug. 28, 2023.
She was born May 31, 1934, in Conrad, Mont., to Clarence and Beatrice Robertson and was the fifth of eight children. She and her siblings grew up on their family farm in Devon. She attended country school through 8th grade, and then moved to town to attend Shelby High School until graduation.
Shirley married Carl Nelson in 1954. They had two daughters, Georgie and Sheila. The marriage ended in divorce. She remarried Charles “Bud” Sheridan. They made their home in Carson, Calif., moving to Polson in 1980 after Bud’s retirement.
Shirley and Bud were very involved with the Montana Fiddlers and Montana Accordion Association. After Bud passed Shirley continued playing music and enjoying all her grandchildren’s activities.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Bud; her parents, Clarence and Beatrice; and her siblings Lucille (George) Frydenlund, Clare (Thelma) Robertson, Jim (Marlys) Robertson and Darilyn Keller.
She is survived by her daughters, Georgie Huerta and Sheila Marquardt, both of Polson; her grandchildren, Chloie Huerta of Anaconda, and Elaina (Jake) Jennison, Erika (Jeff) Jennison, Martina, Nick, Veronica and John Marquardt all of Polson; great-grandchildren Brynlee and Joey Jennison; and siblings Betty Stevens, Vern (Sharon) Robertson, and Duane (Barb) Robertson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Sept. 22, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Valley View Cemetery in Shelby, with a reception to follow at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. Messages of condolences may be shared with the family online at www.lakefuneralhomeandcremation.com.
