Mission Valley teams have (mostly) winning week

Maidens defeat Bigfork in four

In four sets, Ronan notched a big Flathead Lake rivalry win over Northwest A foe Bigfork on Saturday, Sept. 9.

Ronan won the first set 25-16, dropped the second 18-25, then bounced back with a 25-22 set win. The Maidens won the final stanza 25-18 to finish off the Valkyries.

Lauryn Buhr led Ronan with 10 kills, Mckenna Corley had eight, and Maddy Illig had six. Seattle Adams, Corley, and Zailee Hewankorn each had three aces, while Adams had 26 assists.

Kaydance Santos led the Maidens defensively with 15 digs. Ronan improved to 3-1 on the season.

Polson chops down Libby

Mckenna Hanson had seven kills, while Hannah Simpson had six as a balanced Polson attack took down Libby 25-14, 25-12 on Saturday, Sept. 9 at Libby.

The Lady Pirates got 22 assists from Avery Starr, which turned into five kills from Josie Henriksen and five from Kellyn Nelson.

While playing defense, Julia Barnard had eight digs, and Nelson notched four.

Polson improved to 3-1 with the win.

Polson takes out Browning

The Lady Pirates made quick work of Browning on the road 25-11, 25-9, 25-16 in Northwestern A volleyball action on Thursday, Sept. 7. Mckenna Hanson had 11 kills, while Hannah Simpson and Carli Maley each had six.

Sam Rensvold dished out three aces, while Avery Starr had 21 assists. Julia Barnard led Polson with eight digs, and Rensvold had six.

Arlee falls to Florence-Carlton

Florence Carlton improved to 5-0 on the season with a 25-11, 25-16, 25-8 victory over Arlee on Thursday, Sept. 7.

Olivia Raczykowski led the way for the Falcons with eight kills, while Maggie Schneiter had 10 assists.

Mission falls to Thompson Falls

Thompson Falls defeated Mission in three sets on Saturday, Sept. 9, by scores of 25-15, 25-14, 25-17. The Lady Bulldogs were led by Izzy Evans's 12 kills, while Amelia Cronk had 10 assists. Cronk and Evans each had two aces.

Defensively, Jada Domebo had six digs, and Kensey Burke had five digs.

Mission sweeps Plains

Mission picked up their first regular season win, downing Plains 26-24, 27-25, 25-11 on Thursday, Sept. 7. Izzy Evans led the way with 11 kills, and Amelia Cronk and Jada Domebo each had 10 assists.

Wenona Tenas played defense with nine digs, Evans had eight digs, and Kensey Burke had eight digs. Tenas had four aces, while Domebo and Brooke Tanner each had three aces.

Ronan downs Whitefish

Ronan downed Whitefish in four sets in Northwestern A volleyball action on Thursday, Sept. 7, as the Maidens notched 18-25, 25-23, 26-24, 27-25 set victories.

McKenna Cortey had 11 of Ronan’s 40 kills, while Seattle Adams had 31 assists. Cortey also had six blocks. Defensively, Kaydance Santes had 16 of Ronan’s 72 digs in the matchup.

Isabella Hartwig led Whitefish with ten kills, while Wyli Ridgeway had 22 digs.

Charlo drops match to Drummond

Drummond moved to 4-0 on the year with a 25-14, 25-17, 25-11 victory over Charlo on Tuesday, Sept. 5. Delaney Wagner led the Trojans with seven kills and 15 digs in the matchup.
