Polson boys split soccer matches

Polson boys top Libby

The Pirates got two goals from Ashtyn Nelson en route to a 3-0 Northwest A victory over Libby on Saturday, Sept. 9.

Polson scored in the first half, as Nelson collected his first goal in the 19th minute. In the second half, Robert Merchant scored in the 47th minute on an assist from Lucian Sawyer. Two minutes later, Nelson scored again on a pass from Anthony Lichtenberg.

Polson finished the game with two corner kicks and 10 fouls.

Wildcats defeat Pirates

Columbia Falls attacked in the first half, scoring three goals en route to a 4-0 Northwest A victory over the Pirates on Thursday, Sept. 7.

Polson had 15 shots, but Columbia Falls' goalkeeper, Rafe Rusche, registered 13 saves in the win. Kai Golan and Max Everett each contributed two goals to the Wildcat win.

Maddox Bird had 12 saves for the Pirates, while Polson had four corner kicks to Columbia Falls' six. Polson had 14 fouls compared to Columbia Falls' 11, and each team had a yellow card.
