It was quite a night for Polson quarterback Holden Emerson, who ran for 182 yards and four touchdowns while throwing for another in a 42-20 victory over Western A foe Butte Central on Friday, Sept. 8. It was Polson's first win of the season.

Emerson scored in the first quarter on a six-yard run, and the attack continued in the second quarter. Emerson found paydirt on an 11-yard and seven-yard run. Butte Central would score before halftime, but the Pirates responded on a 50-yard touchdown pass by Emerson to Tommy Sherry, giving Polson the 28-6 advantage at the break.

After a scoreless third, Butte Central punched the ball in from a yard out. The Pirates, however, scored on a 12-yard Emerson run and then a Cody Haggard 41-yard interception return.

Polson had 390 yards of total offense. Uriah Ulutoa added 48 yards on ten rushes, while receiver Casey Graham caught three balls for 89 yards.

On defense, Brenden Griffen had six solo tackles and eight assisted tackles.
