Lady Pirates fall to unbeaten Whitefish

Whitefish remained undefeated and picked up a key Northwestern A victory against Polson by the score of 5-1 on Thursday, Sept. 14. Polson scored in the 76th minute as London Davis notched the Lady Pirates' lone goal of the game.

The Lady Bulldogs outshot Polson 23-9 in the victory.

Delaney Smith scored on an Isabelle Cooke assist in the second minute for Whitefish’s first goal, and the Lady Bulldogs struck again in the fourth minute as Smith assisted Olivia Genovese.

In the 23rd minute, Isabelle Cooke scored her first goal of the game on an assist from Smith. Brynn Morse finished out Whitefish’s first half with a score, assisted by Genovese in the 26th minute.

Cooke notched her second goal of the game, assisted by Genovese in the 72nd minute.

Polson dropped to 3-5 on the season and 1-3 in league play.

Bigfork tops Polson, 3-1

Polson fell to Bigfork 3-1 in Northwest A conference girls soccer action on Tuesday, Sept. 12. The Valkyries got a goal in the first five minutes but didn’t score again until late in the second half.

Madyson Luikart scored Polson’s one goal of the game off a penalty kick in the 78th minute. The Lady Pirates had two shots on goal and possessed the ball 34 percent of the time.
