Ronan boys top Mission XC Invite
Ronan won the boys' team scoring at the Mission Cross Country Invitational on Tuesday, Sept. 12, while Mission’s Harlon Leishman finished second in the race with a time of 17:24.46.
Mission’s Hayden Smith finished fourth (18:13.62), while the Chiefs’ running efforts were anchored by junior Koda King, who finished fifth (18:20.21). Ronan also had Tayen Edmo finish eighth (18:31.03) and William Normandeau place ninth (18:31.75).
Ronan occupied the next three spots as Jacob Piapot was 10th (18:39.29), Devin Big Medicine was 11th (18:41.80), and Benjamin Running Rabbit was 12th (19:02.69).
Ronan’s Wade Qualtier was 14th (19:08.31), while Two Eagle River’s Malacye Piapot was 15h (19:27.36).
Mission placed second in the meet and Darby was third.
Also finishing was Ronan’s Connor Durglo in 18th (19:48.22) and Keyan Pretty On Top in 21st (20:28.14).
On the girls side, Arlee’s Anola Naugle finished fourth (22:59.96), while Ronan’s Maddie Duffey was 10th (26:00.74).
Arlee’s Lilybelle Buffalo was 12th (26:39.92) and Mission’s Ellanah Flatlip was 13th (27:20.37). Ronan had three runners finish in a bunch with Nichole Koehler in 18th (28:33.08), Annie Adams, 19th (28:49.03), and Gracie Heiner, 20th (28:54.05).
Mission’s Kason Page was 21st (29.29.82), and Ronan’s KyLynne Dusty Bull was 23rd (29:48.88).
Polson wins both team titles at Libby
Polson posted the top three finishers in both the boys and girls divisions, earning Pirate runners both team titles at the Libby Wilderness Run on Saturday, Sept. 6.
Freshman Jackson Bontadelli anchored the boys with a first place time of 17:27.51. He was followed by David DiGiallonardo in second (17:53.82) and Brandt Heninger in third (17:57.73). Polson was the only team with runners under 18 minutes.
Polson’s Hayden Clairmont was 13th (18:51.3) and Kai McDonald was 14th (19:03.59). Chase Piedalue was 24th as a Pirate freshman with a time of 20:16.4.
On the girls’ side, freshman Morgan Delaney was first with a time of 20:42.1, while Polson teammate Aidson Carlson was second (21:41.15) and senior Isabel Seeley was third (21:58.98).
Arlee’s Anola Naugle was fourth (22:06.52) and Polson’s Brittian Davis was sixth (23:55.05). Lady Pirate Katelyn Smith was ninth (24:42.07) and Arlee’s Lilybelle Buffalo was 10th (25:30.33). Polson’s Karly Smith was 12th (28:36.93).
