St. Ignatius Seniors: Griz in the orchard
Be careful leaving your house in the evening – bears are out and about. We had a grizzly in our orchard last week.
The St. Ignatius Senior Center is looking to hire a site manager. The work is two or three days a week for six to eight hour a day. Call 406-745-4462 for more information.
We will be having a rummage sale on Sept 22-23, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are also raffling a basket donated by St. Ignatius Valley Bank that has a Pendleton outside blanket, coffee beans, coffee grinder, cups and two hooded shirts. The drawing is Sept. 23 at 4 p.m.
AARP driving course will be Oct. 27.
Lake County Health Department will be offering flu immunizations from 4-5 p.m. Oct. 18. Bring your Medicare card and prescription card.
We had a good turnout for Bingo on Saturday, Sept. 9, with $100 Blackout. Our next Bingo will be Oct. 14 at 2 p.m.
Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy a meal at the center at noon Fridays and Tuesdays and 5:30 p.m. select Wednesdays. Menus are available via email, mail, or at the center. If you are interested in a take-out meal, please call 406-745-4462 by 10 a.m. and leave a message.
Main dishes include: grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, noon Sept. 22; and spaghetti and meatballs, noon, Sept. 28.
People that come and eat our meals have commented on how tasty the local fruit and vegetables are. We continue to welcome fresh produce from gardens and orchards.
Gentle Yoga meets at 1 p.m. Wednesdays (call 406-253-0177); and Foot Hill Club gathers at 1 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays for snacks and cards.
The center has a computer available for public use from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays; and several personal-care items are available to share. The facility is also available to rent.
