NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Lake County Solid Waste District The Lake County Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, to obtain public comments regarding proposed improvements to the Lake County’s solid waste system. The public hearing will begin at 3:00 p.m. at the Office of the Lake County Commissioners at 106 4th Ave E, Polson, MT. With assistance from Great West Engineering, the Lake County Solid Waste District is preparing a preliminary engineering report (PER) to evaluate a proposed expansion of its landfill operations at 39276 Kerr Dam Road, Polson, MT.  At the public hearing, Lake County Solid Waste District and Great West Engineering representatives will explain the project’s purpose, the project area, the scope of work, the budget, possible funding sources, and any costs that may result for local citizens because of the project. Great West Engineering will also present its assessment of the project’s environmental impact. During the public hearing, residents may ask questions and express their opinions regarding the project and its potential impact on Lake County’s residents. The final report may be used by the District to obtain funds with which to complete the proposed expansion.
