A Polson man is accused of intentionally skipping a court appearance on a rape charge. Jerod Eugene Koldeway, 44, entered a plea of not guilty in Polson District March 27, to felony bail jumping.

Koldeway was charged with sexual intercourse without consent stemming from a complaint from a girl who was 13 at the time of the alleged incident. That was in October 2023.

The suspect was released from custody after he posted bond of $40,000. He was ordered to wear a monitoring device and to appear for a pretrial hearing on Feb. 28, but failed to appear.

Koldeway’s trial date of June 3 on the rape charge was vacated and reset for Sept. 16, the same day Judge Molly Owen set the bail-jumping case for trial. Koldeway remains at liberty.
