College-bound Espn Fisher pitched a masterful game for the Pirates while driving in two runs and swatting a double as Polson defeated Ronan 15-1 in the Battle for the Paddle on Thursday, March 24.

Ronan’s Coleton Sherman drove in one run in the top of the first, but Polson answered in the bottom of the frame.

With the game tied at 1-1 after one inning at O’Malley Park in Polson, the Pirates exploded for eight runs in the bottom of the second. Cole Wadsworth doubled to bring home one run, while Fisher doubled to bring home two more.

Wyatt Wadsworth, Aiden Gfroerer, and Cody Haggard each drove in runs during the rally, and Hunter Emerson hit the third double of the inning for another score, and an error also led to another Polson run.

Polson followed that up in the next inning with six runs. Holden Emerson drove in two runs, and Zak Muzquiz brought home another with a single. Two errors in the inning also led to scores, while a batter struck by a pitch brought in another.

Fisher finished the game going five innings on the mound, striking out 10 and allowing just one hit in the first inning.

Polson improved to 5-1 on the season with the win, while Ronan fell to 0-3.
