Too smoky? Too hot? Fans not cooling? We have a really cool Polson Senior Citizens Community Center. Bring a friend; make a friend.

Nominations for officers and board members are now open for our next fiscal year starting Sept. 1. Annual meeting and elections will be held Friday, Aug. 23, starting at 10:30 a.m. Lunch served at noon.

You can look forward to events for dues-paying members in August (Banana splits?). Dues are only $15.

Many hands make light work. Give us a hand. Volunteer.

Free oral health screenings are offered by registered dental hygienists: Friday, Aug. 16, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The center is looking for a nutrition director, full or part-time, salary DOE.

Activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: wood carving for beginners, 1 p.m. Wednesday and Friday, join any week; self-guided, video-assisted exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, sitting or standing; bingo, 6:30 p.m. Fridays ($100 blackout), with playing card bingo on the first and third Wednesdays; pinochle, 12:30-3 p.m. Thursdays (we always have chair reserved for you); Wednesday is game day – bring a game and a group of friends from 1-3 p.m.

The pool table is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays. Inquire at the center about bridge.

A veteran’s service officer visits the center on the first Friday and third Tuesday of each month.

Meals are available for sit-down, take-out or delivery from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekdays; a suggested donation of $5 helps support the nutrition program. The menu is posted each week at the center, although it’s subject to change. Call before 10 a.m. for grab-n-go.

Upcoming main dishes include: Cobb salad, Aug. 1; burger on a bun, Aug. 2; tomato soup, Aug. 5; goulash, Aug. 6; lemon chicken, Aug. 7; beef enchiladas, Aug. 8; and blueberry strata and sausage links, Aug. 9.

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at 504 Third Ave. E. For more information, call 406-883-4735, email polsonseniorcenter@gmail.com or visit us on Facebook.
