A Polson man with seven prior convictions for DUI is accused of adding an eighth. Craig Britton, 57, entered a plea of not guilty in District Court at Polson Aug. 7 to felony DUI.

According to court records, on July 25, the driver of an ambulance in Polson contacted law enforcement to report that an erratic driver was tailgating the ambulance. Law enforcement located the suspect’s vehicle on 13th Ave. E. in Polson and made contact with Britton.

Allegedly, there was a bottle of booze in the vehicle. An investigation led to a preliminary breath test that showed Britton’s blood alcohol content at .118.

Judge Molly Owen set a trial date of Jan. 6. Britton remains in the Lake County Jail with bail set at $25,000.
