Shakespeare in the Parks: “A Winter’s Tale” – 6 p.m. Aug. 22 at Palmer Park east of Charlo on Hwy. 212; a jealous king accuses his wife of infidelity and exiles his daughter to Bohemia, where she is raised by shepherds and falls in love with the Bohemian king’s son in one of Shakespeare’s lighter plays. Those Boomer Boys – 7:30 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 1 p.m. Sundays, through Sept. 1 at the Theatre on the Lake in Polson; the Port Polson Players continue their 49th season with music and humor of the Baby Boomer era. Those Boomer Boys is a revival of one of the most popular offerings from the Players of the past four decades, and features the original cast of the show, first presented in 2006. Friends of the Library Used Book & Media Sale – 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 23 and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Aug. 24 at the North Lake County Library Community Room; browse a wide selection of assorted titles over many genres and includes DVDs and audiobooks, all at bargain prices. Proceeds support the library’s educational programs, resources, and services.

Family Fun Day – 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Aug. 24 at Mission Valley Aquatics and Fitness in Polson; event offers free swimming, a dunk tank, face painting, bouncy houses and food trucks.

Barn Dance – 5:30-9 p.m. Aug. 31 at the historic Big Arm School; the 15th annual event includes music, grilled burgers with all the fixings and a beverage, capped with huckleberry ice cream served from 5:30-7 p.m. (donations welcome). "Talk the Talk: Then and Now – Student Photographs 2001-2024" – on display through Aug. 30 at the Three Woodcocks Gallery at Salish Kootenai College; exhibit celebrates the photography of Two Eagle River and SKC students, created under the tutelage of master photographer David Spear.

Kiwanis – First Thursday of the month, noon at Kwataqnuk Resort, and third Thursday of the month, 5:30 p.m. at Bunkers, Polson Bay Golf Course; Kiwanis is an international organization dedicated to improving the world one child, one community at a time. Meetings are open to the public.

Cheerful Heart Cancer Support Group – noon-1 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month in the chapel at St. Joseph Medical Center; anyone affected by cancer is invited to participate in this group led by Matthew Connally of the Ronan/Polson Nazarene Church.
