Rep. Reksten puts Montana and constituents first
In the Aug. 15 edition of the Leader, a letter to the editor was published attacking Rep. Linda Reksten’s legislative record. The author’s accusations are uninformed. I would urge voters in HD 13 to do some quick research regarding Reksten’s voting record which is far from rubberstamping.
The best example we can cite is HB-321 which was introduced by Reksten early in the 2023 session. This bill increased an existing trust fund which benefits our Montana schools from $100 million to $200 million. In addition, HB 321 created a new $100 million trust fund which supports conservation work across Montana.
Representative Reksten worked tirelessly on this bill, testifying before House and Senate committees multiple times and explaining and defending the bill on the floor of the House and Senate. Finally, in the last few days of the session, the bill was passed. The final vote was overwhelming – the House 90 to 5 and the Senate 46 to 3. Rep. Reksten’s work on this bill garnered overwhelming support from both parties.
Rep. Reksten does not rely on rhetoric or partisan talking points; she lets data and research guide her decisions. Whether advocating for education reform or scrutinizing the state budget, she prioritizes evidence-based solutions over ideology.
This commitment to facts and analysis ensures that her constituents’ voices are heard and their needs are met. In a political landscape often driven by emotion, Rep. Reksten’s commitment to data and what’s good for Montana is refreshing.
Join us in voting for and returning Rep. Reksten to Helena this November.
