Polson Study Commission seeks input
Polson voters recently voted to review our city government and elect a City of Polson Study Commission.
The purpose of a study commission is to examine the existing form and powers of a local government and procedures for delivery of local government services and compare them with other forms available under the laws of the state. It is not the commission’s job to evaluate existing employees.
As your commission we will:
• Review our community’s current form of government;
• Communicate with members of our local government to gather information;
• Solicit community input about current needs and interests regarding public services and functions;
• Use the information we collect to assess how well the current form of government functions and whether an alternative form would function more effectively or efficiently;
• Provide the community with information and education to help them understand our recommendations; and, finally,
• Write a comprehensive final report.
It is our goal to generate interest in our city government as this study gives you, the voters, a chance to voice your opinions. You voted for this study which indicates there are concerns on your part.
We will be holding regular posted meeting and encourage your attendance.
