Arlee improves to 4-0 with win over Mission

Arlee stretched their record to 4-0 with a 65-49 victory over Lake County rival Mission in Class B boys basketball action on Friday, Dec. 13.

The Warriors fended off Mission’s Lex LaFrombois’ 25 points, using a 17-7 run in the second quarter for a 33-21 lead. Both teams scored in the 20s in the third quarter but Arlee was able to maintain its advance in the second half.

Jason Leishman added nine points and Vinny Shepard had eight points for the Bulldogs. It was Mission’s first loss of the season.

Two Eagle picks up first win of season

Two Eagle fell off in the third quarter in a 57-47 loss to Plains in nonleague basketball action on Friday, Dec. 13. Plains and the Eagles were knotted 25-25 at halftime, but Plains went on a 21-7 run in the third quarter.

Darren Standeford led Plains with 17 points.

On Thursday, Two Eagle outlasted Ronan’s JV team for a 52-51 victory – their first of the season. The Eagles jumped out to an 18-10 lead in the first quarter and led 28-20 at halftime. Ronan’s JV, however, went on a 16-7 run in the fourth quarter and very nearly pulled off the comeback.

Talon Addision led the Eagles with 14 points, while Wyatt Thomas had nine points and Rhiley Gates had seven.

Two Eagle is now 1-3 on the season.
