Chiefs go toe-to-toe against AA Squads

Ronan notched wins at the Jim Street Mining City Duals on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13-14, against both Class A foes they faced.

Against Browning, the Chiefs scored a 48-36 victory. Ridge Cote notched a 23-second pin over Jazz Gervais at 132 pounds, while teammate Luc Cheff scored a five-second pin at 126 pounds over Tre Spottedbear.

Joseph Fullweiler notched a pin for Ronan at 138 pounds, while Koda King also scored a fall at 165 pounds. Ronan also had three forfeits in the victory.

Ronan also defeated Three Forks/Ennis 42-27. Brady Hout scored a fall over Vincent Diaz in 4:34 for Ronan at 190 pounds, while Cooper Wayman picked up a 55-second pin for the Chiefs at 215 pounds.

Luc Cheff scored a fall at 126 pounds, and Koda King also pinned his opponent at 165 pounds. Dominque McKay was also a winner for Ronan, recording a fall in 2:34 at 175 pounds.

AA Billings Skyview defeated Ronan 47-36, despite pins by Jairyn Krause at 157 pounds, a 40-second pin by Koda King at 165 pounds, pins by Dominque McKay (175 pounds), Brady Hour (190 pounds), Cooper Wayman (215 pounds) and Jackson Davis at 285 pounds.

Ronan had another close AA dual against Missoula Big Sky/Loyola Sacred Heart but fell 42-34. Ronan’s Justus Orman-Bergamn pinned his foe Cole Aquilio at 118 pounds. Ridge Cote won at 132 pounds with a pin in 1:12 against Greg Whiting.

Skylar Sias notched a pin for the Chiefs at 144 pounds, and Koda King was victorious at 165 pounds, finally pinning his opponent Tanner Davis after 5:26 of wrestling. Dominique McKay notched a pin at 175 pounds, and Brady Hout had a major decision (19-10) over Quincy King at 190 pounds.

Against Butte, the Chiefs fell in dual action 51-29 but Koda King won by fall at 165 pounds, as did Dominique McKay at 175 pounds and Brady Hout at 190 pounds. Jackson Davis also scored a six-minute pin at 185 pounds.

Several Polson wrestlers shine at Mining City duals

At the Jim Street Mining City Duals on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 13-14, Polson picked up one dual win and got lots of early season action in.

The Pirates picked up a dual victory over Northwest A foe Browning 42-41.

At 118 pounds, Gerado Alverez picked up a 45-second pin over Browning’s Nathaniel Marry. Logan Clairmont followed that up with a 43-second pin over Browning Tre Spottedbear.

At 138 pounds, Polson’s Levi Atkins pinned William Runningcrane in 42 seconds. The Pirates also got four forfeits in the matchup.

Polson fell to AA Flathead 75-6, but Polson’s Durai Mahkuk notched a pin in 4:41 over Flathead’s Jacob Berry at 285 pounds. Polson also fell to Frenchtown 67-9. Polson’s Sheamis Cobb had a 12-7 decision over Frenchtown’s Clayton Mitchell.

Against South Freemont High School, Polson lost 60-24 but had Daniel O’Roake notch a 27-second pin over Tagg Howard. Great Falls CMR JV defeated Polson 45-27.

Durai Mahkuk won in an 11-8 victory over Great Falls’ Maxton Matejovsky at 285 pounds. At 103 pounds, Polson’s Wyatt Moldenhaur scored a pin in less than 90 seconds over Field Byrd.

At 138 pounds, Levi Atkins notched another pin for the Pirates, downing Adam Cooper. Polson also got pins from Daniel O’Roake at 150 pounds and Gabriel Houston at 157 pounds.
