Ronan girls place third at Flathead Invite

Ronan put several wrestlers on the podium and placed third as a team at the Flathead Invitational at Kalispell on Dec. 13-14.

Ronan’s River Cote won the 110-pound bracket, picking up three pins in under a minute and winning the championship bout over Billings Skyview’s Hannah Leonard with a fall.

Amanda Webster was third at 120 pounds, falling in her first match but notching an impressive six pins to make her way back through the bracket.

Leona Dodson Howe was third at 155 pounds, winning her first three matches with two pins and a major decision. After falling in the semifinals, she won her consolation semifinal match by pin and won the third-place match by putting Gallatin’s Hannah Gohde on her back.

Aaliyah Stewart was fourth at 125 pounds, notching six pins in tournament action. Her teammate Sarah Templer was sixth after recording four falls on her way through the bracket.

Hadassah Read was also sixth at 155 pounds as she notched four pins and a major decision. Teammate Judasha Ellsworth was fourth at 235 pounds, getting a decision and then pinning two.

Ronan’s Seattle Adams was third in the 235-pound bracket, falling in her first match and then scoring four straight pins.

POLSON

Polson’s Cheyenna Blake was sixth at 125 pounds, getting pins in her first three matches. Her teammate Abighail Sorrell was third at 190 pounds, recording five falls including one over Billings West’s Brooklyn Larsen in the third-placed match.

MISSION

Mission’s Amelia Cronk was fourth at 130 pounds. Cronk bounced back from a second-round loss to get four pins in the consolation bracket.

Fellow Lady Bulldog Laurin Padilla was sixth at 235 pounds. She won her first two matches by pins to reach the tournament semifinals.

ARLEE

Arlee’s Anola Naugle reached the championship bout and placed second in the 115-pound bracket. She scored her first three pins in under a minute and a half.
