Lady Vikings declaw Superior

Charlo bounced back from its first loss of the season to power past Superior in Western 13C basketball action on Saturday, Dec. 21, on the Vikings’ home court.

The Lady Vikings trailed 25-24 at halftime but scratched out a two-point lead in the third quarter and then held on in the fourth.

Brielle Zempel, who has been a double-digit machine for the Lady Vikings this year, led Charlo with 19 points. Seeley McDonald had 13 points and Maizey McDonald scored eight.

The Lady Bobcats fell to 2-3 on the year with the loss. Braelynn Mangold led Superior with 17 points.

Charlo suffered its first loss of the season last Thursday, dropping a 43-37 Western 13C matchup to Seeley-Swan on the road. The Lady Vikings had previously scored 108 points in their first two victories of the season but were stymied by the Seeley-Swan defense.
