Ronan tops East Helena, falls to Laurel
Ronan outscored East Helena by 10 points in the third quarter en route to a 63-55 victory in East-West crossover basketball action on Saturday, Dec. 21. The Chiefs improved to 3-2 on the year with the victory.
Ronan trailed 25-23 at halftime, but went on a 23-13 run in the third quarter to take command of the game. Tayen Edmo hit six shots and went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line to finish with 18 points, four assists and two steals.
Not far behind him was Laurance Lozeau, who was 6-for-8 from the free throw line and hit five field goals for 17 points to go along with four rebounds and five steals. Sean Small had six rebounds and nine points, while Wade Qualtier had eight points and five assists.
Ronan had 13 steals in the game and 28 rebounds as a team.
Laurel survived Ronan last Friday, downing the Chiefs 58-52.
Kolby Finley had a double-double with 18 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, and three steals. He hit five field goals and went 8-for-9 from the free-throw line.
Lozeau added 10 points and Qualtier tallied nine points. Chad Higgins had nine points and 11 rebounds in the matchup.

Chiefs chill Blue Devils
Ronan powered past Corvallis 76-31 with ease on Tuesday, Dec. 17, handing the Blue Devils their fourth loss of the season. Kolby Finley posted a balanced game with 19 points, six rebounds, five assists, five steals and two blocks.
He wasn’t the only Chief with a big game as Jhett McDonald scored 14 points while Laurance Lozeau had 10 points and three steals. Wade Qualtier notched nine points and three steals.
In all, Ronan had 28 rebounds, 22 assists, 15 steals and five blocks as a team.
