Herbert Webb, 64

Herbert "Herb" E. Webb, 64, of Polson, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 6, at St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula. He was born Oct. 22, 1959, in Yreka, Calif., to James and Mary Coralee (Dumond) Webb. 

He graduated from high school in Wagner, Okla., attended Southeastern Oklahoma State University and completed his master’s degree in Range Management from North Dakota State University.

On May 27, 1989, Herb married Vickey Skelton in Chinook, Mont.

Herb was active in the Facebook group, the Cardiac Athletes and was a member of AIANEA and SAIGE. He was very artistic and created shadow boxes and awards for AIANEA and SAIGE. He did custom framing and matting and created art in many different mediums including pen and ink, beads, watercolors, and many others. Herb also worked with taxidermy and was proficient in carpentry and woodworking.

Herb enjoyed fishing Flathead Lake with his brothers-in-law, playing poker with friends and attending mountain-man rendezvous. He had a great sense of humor and loved pulling a fast one on friends and family.

Herb retired from USDA Dec. 31, 2022, after 39 years, having worked in Choteau, Chinook, and Ronan/Pablo.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Coralee, sister-in-law, Vickie Webb, and brother, Jimmie Webb. 

Herb is survived by his wife of 34 years, Vickey; his father, Jim Webb; brother John Webb; mother-in-law Renie Skelton; sisters-in-law Margi Salisbury, Sharon (Mark) Bosch and Andi (Tom) Pindell; nieces Jennifer (Joshua) Gapetz, Alyssa (Logan) Bosch and Lynnea Bosch; nephews Matthew (Shannon) Webb, Nathan Pindell and Dalton Pindell; many aunts and uncles and several great nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his dogs, Ofi and Zen.
