Self-reliance seminar set for Feb. 10
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints hosts a Self-Reliance and Preparedness seminar, Saturday, Feb 10, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Guest speakers, displays, handouts and information address a variety of useful topics, including:
• Inventorying and determining what to store and building and utilizing storage spaces
• “How to Get More Out of Your Garden with Less Effort” by Fred Billings of Garden for Life
• Food preservation and storage
• Growing sprouts and microgreens
• Growing seedlings to plant
• Seed sharing (participants are invited to bring viable seeds to trade)
• Water storage and purification
• Communication options
• Beekeeping
• Bug-out bags for a quick exit
• Survival skills and tools
• Foraging and using herbs for medicinal use
• Getting out of debt and organizing essential paperwork
• Recipes and samples of items that can be made at home
