C Girls: Charlo girls improve league mark to 7-0

Charlo’s Lady Vikings went on a 21-1 run in the second quarter on their way to a 60-17 Western 14C victory over Noxon Saturday, Feb. 3. Seeley McDonald led the Vikings with 12 points in the win.

Charlo was on top 16-5 after one quarter, had a 37-6 halftime lead, and then came out in the third quarter and ripped off a 14-4 run.

Graciela Hawk added nine points to the Viking's efforts, while Darcy Coleman had seven points.

Charlo remained undefeated in league play at 7-0 and improved their overall record to 11-4.

Charlo powers past St. Regis

Charlo came out strong, held St. Regis to single-digit scoring in each quarter, and came away with a 60-22 Western 14C victory Friday, Feb. 2.

Seeley McDonald led the Vikings with 20 points, while Shonlea Matt and Sheadon Kain had 11.

Opening the game up with a 22-2 lead, Charlo went into halftime with a 32-10 halftime lead. The Lady Vikings opened up the third quarter with a 20-5 run and cruised to their 10th win of the season.

Charlo moved to 6-0 in league play, while St. Regis dropped to 2-4.

Piapot scores 21 In Two Eagle victory

Dayani Piapot scored 21 points for Two Eagle in its 50-41 Western 14C victory over Noxon on the road on Friday, Feb. 2.

Two Eagle jumped out to a 13-3 lead in the first quarter and had a 24-19 lead at halftime. The Lady Eagles added to their advantage by three points in the third quarter and upped it by another point in the fourth.

Keke Tenas had 17 points for the Eagles, while Layla Tenas had six points.

It was Two Eagle’s first league victory of the year and improved their overall record to 4-11.

At Noxon

Two Eagle loses two games to Hot Springs

Jodessa McGreevey scored 16 points for Two Eagle, but the Lady Eagles fell 50-43 in Western 14C league play to Hot Springs on Thursday, Feb. 1. Two days earlier, on Jan. 30, the Lady Eagles lost by 10 points, 59-49, to their reservation opponents.

On Thursday, Two Eagle led 11-7 after one quarter and 20-18 at halftime. Hot Springs went on a 17-9 run in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Layla Tenas and Keke Tenas each had eight points for Two Eagle. Hot Springs improved to 5-1 in league play, while Two Eagle dropped to 0-5.

Last Tuesday, Keke Tenas scored 16, but Two Eagle still lost to Hot Springs 59-49. Hot Springs surged in the second quarter to take a 30-22 lead and was able to maintain that advantage in the second half.

Layla Tenas and Jodessa McGreevey each added nine points to Two Eagle’s efforts.
