B Boys: Loyola ends Arlee's seven-game winning streak

Missoula-Loyola downs Arlee

League-leading Missoula-Loyola downed Arlee 68-58 in a key Western 6B matchup in Missoula Saturday, Feb. 3, ending the Warriors seven-game winning streak. The Rams finished the game on a 14-6 run to improve their league record to 8-0 on the year.

Arlee led 33-32 at halftime, but Missoula-Loyola took a two-point lead in the fourth quarter.

Ben Harlow-Old Person led the Warriors with 26 points, while Jake Knoll had 11 points.

Arlee fell to 6-2 on the year and 14-2 overall. Both losses have come to Missoula-Loyola.

Warriors drop 90 on Deer Lodge

Arlee scored 32 points in the third quarter and flew past Deer Lodge 90-46 in Western 6B basketball action at home Friday, Feb. 2.

Ben Harlow-Old Person continued his high-scoring ways with 24 points, while Tavin Lapahie and Jake Knoll each had 14 points.

Arlee led 45-30 at halftime, then went on a 32-9 run in the third quarter and posted their highest point total of the season. The previous high was 85 points against Mission on Dec. 15.

Kendall O’Neill added 13 points for the Warriors. Arlee improved to 14-1 on the season and 6-1 in league.

Mission falls to Troy

Troy finished out its Western 7B matchup against Mission on a 20-10 run for a 56-44 victory on Friday, Feb. 22. The Trojans and Bulldogs were tied 20-20 at halftime and Troy had the lead at the end of the third quarter.

Mission dropped to 2-5 in league play and 2-13 overall.

Eureka takes down Mission

Eureka scored 20 or more points in the first three-quarters of a Western 7B victory over Mission by a score of 81-44 on Thursday, Feb. 1.

Landon Walks Over Ice led Mission with 19 points, while Lex LaFrombois added 16 points. Vinny Shepard also notched seven points for the Bulldogs.

Eureka had a 47-26 lead at halftime and went on a 20-9 run in the third quarter.

Warriors take down Florence-Carlton

Ben Harlow-Old Person scored 32 points, and the Arlee Warriors picked up a 68-45 Western 6B victory over Florence-Carlton on Tuesday, Jan. 30.

Playing on the road, Arlee opened up with a 13-10 lead and expanded that to 31-22 at halftime. The Warriors then ripped off an 18-8 run in the third quarter and maintained their lead in the fourth.

Jake Knoll added 14 points to Arlee’s efforts, while Kendall O’Neill had eight.
