Chiefs win rivalry matchup against Polson

Polson battled its way back, but Ronan ultimately proved the victor, winning the Lake County rivalry matchup against their nearby foe 44-32 in Northwestern A Conference action on Saturday, Feb. 10.

Ronan jumped out to a 15-0 lead in the first quarter, but the Pirates answered back with a 15-3 run in the second and only trailed 18-15 at the break. The Chiefs extended their lead by four more points in the third quarter and another five in the fourth.

Ronan’s Tedd Coffman led all scorers with 15 points, while Kolby Finley notched 12. Polson was led by Brenden Griffin’s 14 points and Maddox Bird had eight.

Ronan improved to 8-4 in conference action and 11-7 overall, while Polson fell to 1-11 in conference play and 2-15 overall.

Bigfork defeats Ronan

In a game with high-scoring quarters and low-scoring quarters, Bigfork came out on top Friday with a 43-36 Northwestern A victory over Ronan.

Bigfork jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the first quarter, but Ronan battled back and only trailed 21-19 at the half. Both teams scored six points in total in the third quarter, but the Vikings increased their lead by three in the fourth.

Tayen Edmo led the Chiefs with 14 points, while Kolby Finley contributed nine points and Ted Coffman added eight.
