Applications are now being accepted for the position of Program Director for Nutrition. Wage depends on experience, and the shift is from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday-Friday. Application forms are available at the center. We’re also looking for a full-time cook starting mid-April.

The Senior Center is providing AARP Tax Assistance on Mondays or Thursdays, through April 15. Hourly appointment times are available from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Pick up your packet and forms at the center and complete prior to your appointment.

Sign up at the center for a new wood-carving class and leave a phone number for more information. Advanced carvers may join in and some tools may be provided. Classes begin in early spring and class size may be limited so sign up soon.

Senior bowling is available at 1 p.m. Tuesdays ($13 lane fee).

Other activities at the Polson center, open to all, include: self-guided, video-assisted exercise, 10:30-11:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, sitting or standing; bingo, 6:30 p.m. Fridays ($100 blackout), with playing card bingo on the first and third Wednesdays; pinochle, noon-3 p.m. Thursdays; and tai chi, a relaxing movement exercise that helps with balance and flexibility, 10-11 a.m. Tuesdays, through Feb. 27.

The pool table is open 8 a.m.-3 p.m. weekdays. Inquire at the center about bridge.

Space is available for card or board games and other small groups. Call for time slots.

A veteran’s representative will visit the center Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 10 a.m.-noon.

Meals are available for sit-down, take-out or delivery from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. weekdays; a suggested donation of $5 helps support the nutrition program. The menu is posted each week at the center, although it’s subject to change. Call before 10 a.m. for Grab-n-Go.

Upcoming main dishes include: BBQ ribs and Here’s my Heart cookies, Feb. 14; oven-baked stew, Feb. 15; sloppy Joes, Feb. 16; President’s Day potato soup, Feb. 19; pork chops, Feb.  20; chicken pot pie, Feb. 21; corn dogs, Feb. 22; and Birthday Dinner for Lunch featuring roast pork, Feb. 23.

The center is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at 504 3rd Ave. E. For more information, call 406-883-4735, email polsonseniorcenter@gmail.com or visit us on Facebook.
