Polson swimmers claim second and fifth at State

Polson piled up the medals at the 2024 MHSA State Swim Meet over the weekend in Great Falls. The Polson boys took second place in the State AB meet with two state champions, while the Polson girls took fifth.

In the boys' relay races, Polson was second in the 200-Yard Freestyle (1:33.69), and took third both in the 200-Yard Medley with a time of 1:50.73, and the Boys 400-Yard Freestyle (3:54.15).

August Hertz won a state title in the Boys 100-Yard Freestyle (49.55) while teammate Teague McElwee took first in the Boys 50-Yard Freestyle (22.21). Hertz was also second in the Boys 200-Yard Freestyle (1:50.51), while McElwee was second in the Boys 100-Yard Butterfly (53.08) and Lachlan Sloan was fourth (1:03.78).

Truman Sawyer was third in the Boys 200-Yard Intermediate (2:22.78) and third in the Boys 500-Yard Freestyle (5:58.74). Hayden Ricks was fourth in the Boys 100-Yard Breaststroke (1:13.94).

Sloan was sixth in the Boys 50-Yard Freestyle (24.93).

On the girls' side, Polson placed second in the Girls 400-Yard Freestyle (4:27.14). Amelia Stene was third in Girls 100-Yard Butterfly (1:11.64) and fifth in the 50-Yard Freestyle (27.71). Dixie Montgomery was sixth in the Girls 200-Yard Intermediate (2:56.33).
