Mission’s defense was stout, and its offense was consistent in a 49-37 victory over Thompson Falls for the Western 7B District Championship on Saturday, Feb. 17, in St. Ignatius.

"It was great to be able to play in front of all of our home fans and be able to win the district championship," Mission Head Coach Dalton Delaney said. "An exciting time for sure."

Kason Page led the Lady Bulldogs with 13 points. Ellannah Flat Lip added 11 points to the Lady Bulldogs’ total, while Izzy Evans had 10 points.

Mission led by three points in the first quarter and 26-18 at halftime.

"I thought all of my girls played well as a whole team during the district tournament," Delaney said. "Hope to keep that going!"

Mission advances to this weekend’s divisional tournament with a 17-3 overall record.

"The team has good momentum going and we hope to roll into this weekend with the same momentum," Delaney said. "We have tough teams coming from both districts but are looking forward to the challenge."

The Lady Bulldogs will play Deer Lodge at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, at Salish Kootenai College in Pablo.
