Two Eagle falls to St. Regis to place second at District

St. Regis surged in the middle quarters for a 64-53 Western 14C District Tournament championship, as Two Eagle finished second Saturday, Feb. 17, in Polson.

Two Eagle led 15-11 after one quarter but trailed 32-31 at halftime. St. Regis added to its lead by nine points in the third quarter.

Jabez Madplume led the Eagles with 16 points, while Malacye Piapot had 13.

Heading into the Western C Divisional in Frenchtown, Two Eagle has an overall record of 15-6. They will face Harrison at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22.

Noxon defeats Charlo

Charlo’s season came to an end in the district tournament as Noxon outscored the Vikings 15-6 in the fourth quarter for a 52-50 tournament victory on Saturday in Polson.

Charlo led 30-28 at halftime and grew their lead by another five points in the third quarter. Noxon came storming back, however, to outscore the Vikings by nine points in the final stanza.

Jacob Tomlin led Charlo with 13 points, while Karson Cox had 12 points, and Wesley Anderson added 11.

Charlo finished the season 11-9 on the year.

Two Eagle gets past Charlo

Friday brought the shootout that was expected between Two Eagle and Charlo, culminating in a 22-13 run by the Eagles in the fourth quarter for the 69-63 victory.

Two Eagle led 29-26 after one quarter, but Charlo took the 40-39 halftime lead. The Vikings had a three-point lead at the end of the third quarter but couldn’t hold off the Eagles.

Jabez Madplume led Two Eagle with 16 points, while Riley After Buffalo and LaSean BigDay each had 11 points. Charlo brought the firepower as well, with Hayden Hollow scoring 22 points and Wesley Anderson notching 19.

Charlo had previously defeated Two Eagle twice during the regular season.

Eagles open tourney with win

Two Eagle opened up the Western 14C District Tournament with a 76-30 victory over Alberton last Thursday. LaSean BigDay led the Eagles with 14 points while Jabez Madplume had 12 points.

Two Eagle led 23-4 after one quarter and 50-17 at halftime.

Jayvian Burke had 10 points for the Eagles, while Wyatt Thomas had eight points.
