| February 29, 2024 12:00 AM

Kathryn Kaye Griffin was born Feb. 24, 2017, in Missoula, to loving parents Joshua and Christina Griffin. Katie lived her almost 7 years of life in Charlo, until she was called home to her Heavenly Father after a vehicle accident on Feb. 15, 2024.

Katie was a first grader at K. William Harvey Elementary School in Ronan where she was a beloved student and friend. Katie loved animals, especially cats and dogs, playing, dancing, singing, and creating art projects. Katie was a helpful friend who had a kind heart.

To know Katie was to know true joy. From the time she was a baby, Katie never met a stranger and always shared her magnificent smile with all she encountered. Katie had an infectious spunky spirit and loved to laugh.

Katie is survived by her parents, Joshua and Christina Griffin of Charlo; paternal grandfather William Griffin of Charlo; paternal uncle Bryan Newton of Missoula; paternal aunt Nicole (Jimmy) Eason of Mapleton, Utah; maternal grandparents Al and Claudia Tarzian of Gridley, Calif.; maternal aunt Lori (Gurpreet) Singh of Gridley, Calif.; maternal uncle Jeffrey (Jennifer) Tarzian of Lincoln, Neb.; maternal uncle Michael (Janette) Tarzian of Ft. Worth, Texas; as well as 18 cousins who loved Katie dearly.

Katie joined heaven’s light with her paternal grandmother, Ila Kaye Griffin. Katie’s light and warmth are deeply missed but her influence will live on for eternity.

A visitation will be held Friday, March 1, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Ronan from 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 1 p.m. in Ronan; interment following at Pleasant View Cemetery in St. Ignatius.
